Symphoria AI

Terms of Use

Effective March 7, 2026

Investigation power entails investigation responsibility. Symphoria provides intelligence infrastructure for legitimate investigative purposes. These terms exist to ensure that this power is exercised with the integrity and accountability that democratic institutions require.

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the services provided by Symphoria AI ("Symphoria," "we," "us," or "our"), including the platform at app.symphoria.ai and the website at www.symphoria.ai (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Symphoria is an AI-powered intelligence investigation platform designed for legal professionals, compliance teams, journalists, and organizations engaged in legitimate investigative work. The Service includes:

  • AI-assisted document analysis and entity resolution
  • Investigation case management and hypothesis generation
  • Cross-jurisdictional data enrichment and pattern detection
  • Federated learning capabilities built from user-published investigations
  • Collaboration tools including shareable links and published investigations
  • On-premise deployment options for organizations requiring full data sovereignty

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service with reasonable notice.

3. Account Registration and Security

To use the Service, you must create an account with accurate and complete information. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe have been compromised.

4. Acceptable Use

Symphoria exists to serve legitimate investigative purposes. You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. Specifically, you shall not:

  • Fabricate or manipulate evidence. Do not use the Service to create, alter, or present false or misleading investigative findings. The integrity of the evidentiary record is sacred.
  • Conduct unauthorized surveillance. Do not use the Service to monitor, track, or investigate individuals without lawful basis or legitimate investigative purpose.
  • Harass or intimidate. Do not use investigative outputs to harass, threaten, blackmail, or intimidate any person or organization.
  • Circumvent safeguards. Do not attempt to bypass, disable, or interfere with any security features, access controls, or usage limitations of the Service.
  • Reverse engineer. Do not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service, except as expressly permitted by applicable law.
  • Abuse platform resources. Do not use automated tools to excessively burden the Service or interfere with other users' access.
  • Violate applicable law. Do not use the Service in any manner that violates local, national, or international laws or regulations.

We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate action — including suspension or termination of your account — against anyone who violates these provisions.

5. Your Data and Investigation Content

Ownership

You retain all rights, title, and interest in the investigation data, documents, and content you upload to or create within the Service ("Your Content"). Symphoria does not claim ownership of Your Content.

Confidentiality by Default

Your Content is confidential by default. We do not access, review, share, sell, or use Your Content for any purpose other than providing the Service to you. Your investigations are private unless you take explicit action to change that.

Publishing

The Service includes a publish feature that allows you to make an investigation publicly available. When you publish, the investigation becomes accessible to other users and contributes to Symphoria's federated learning system. Publishing is always a deliberate action — it requires your explicit confirmation and can be reversed by unpublishing.

Sharing via Link

You may generate a private shareable link to grant access to specific individuals. Only people with the link can view the shared content. Link-shared investigations are not indexed, not discoverable, and not used for federated learning. You are responsible for managing who receives your shareable links.

License Grant

By using the Service, you grant Symphoria a limited, non-exclusive license to process Your Content solely for the purpose of operating the Service — including storage, display back to you, and technical processing necessary to deliver the functionality you have requested. For published investigations, you additionally grant Symphoria a license to use the published content in our federated learning system to improve pattern detection and intelligence capabilities for all users.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, algorithms, models, documentation, and branding, is the intellectual property of Symphoria and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our intellectual property except the limited right to use the Service in accordance with these Terms.

Feedback, suggestions, or ideas you provide about the Service may be used by Symphoria without obligation to you.

7. AI and Automated Analysis

The Service uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to analyze documents, resolve entities, detect patterns, and generate investigative hypotheses. You acknowledge and agree that:

  • AI outputs require human verification. Automated analyses are tools to assist human judgment, not replacements for it. You are responsible for verifying the accuracy and reliability of any AI-generated output before relying on it in legal, regulatory, or operational contexts.
  • No guarantee of accuracy. While we strive for high accuracy, AI systems can produce errors, false positives, or incomplete results. Symphoria does not warrant that AI outputs are error-free or suitable for any particular purpose without human review.
  • Evidentiary standards. If you intend to use investigative outputs in legal proceedings, you are responsible for ensuring they meet applicable evidentiary standards in your jurisdiction.

Our constitutional principle holds: the AI makes our Intelligence Advisors superhuman; the Intelligence Advisors make the AI constitutional. Technology and human judgment are complementary, not interchangeable.

8. Payment and Subscription

Certain features of the Service require a paid subscription. By subscribing, you agree to pay all applicable fees as described on our pricing page. Fees are non-refundable except as required by applicable law or as expressly stated in a separate written agreement.

We may change subscription fees with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use after the fee change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new fees.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • Symphoria shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, business opportunities, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.
  • Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from or related to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to Symphoria in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
  • Symphoria is not liable for actions taken or decisions made based on AI-generated outputs without appropriate human verification.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the limitation of certain damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Symphoria and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any applicable law or regulation
  • Your Content, including any published or shared investigations
  • Any claim that Your Content infringes the rights of a third party

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Symphoria does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that any content or data will be secure or not otherwise lost or damaged.

12. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time through the platform or by contacting us. Upon termination:

  • You may export Your Content before or during a 30-day grace period following termination.
  • After the grace period, we will delete Your Content from our active systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
  • Published investigations will be removed from the federated learning system upon your request.
  • Shared links will become inactive immediately upon deletion of the underlying investigation.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, with notice and an opportunity to cure where practical. In cases of severe or repeated violation, immediate termination without notice may be necessary.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or through a prominent notice on the platform at least 30 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after such notice constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

If you do not agree to the modified Terms, you must stop using the Service and may terminate your account.

15. General Provisions

  • Entire Agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Symphoria regarding the Service.
  • Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
  • Waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision.
  • Assignment. You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. Symphoria may assign its rights and obligations without restriction.
